Uganda cranes former football Hassan Wasswa announced his retirement from international football on Friday, bringing an end to a dazzling career that saw him win cecafa and represent the country for 13 years.

He took to social media to announce his retirement from Uganda Cranes duty.

Magogo was commenting inline following critics especially from ex-internationals who were blaming him for not paying the player’s allowances and bonuses.

UBC to Broadcast Stanbic Uganda Cup

The National broadcaster, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation-UBC has entered an agreement with the Federation of Uganda Football Association-FUFA to broadcast the 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup.

FUFA’s Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein, says that they agreed with UBC to carry the games to popularize the cup. 

He says that UBC will broadcast the first round of the 32 games and will keep upgrading at every level of the tournament as the discussions continue.

This followed a runt by former cranes and TP Mazembe striker Sulaiman Mutyaba who claimed that FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo and other top officials have been eating the player’s money

According to Paul Mutakabala, FUFA does not pay players’ allowances immediately after a Cranes game is played. He says that when money is availed to the Federation from the government, then it deposited on each player’s bank account. And any player or official who’s ever been a part of the Uganda Cranes squad knows this only too well.

Uganda Cranes legend Jackson Mayanja appointed Kyetume head coach

Former Uganda Cranes player Jackson Mayanja is the new head coach and manager of Kyetume Football Club. He replaces Alex Isabirye who has been interim head coach following the sacking of Livingstone Mbabazi earlier.

Isabirye will now work under Jackson Mayanja. Emmanuel Musinguzi, the Chief Executive Officer, Kyetume FC, says that Mayanja has been working with the club as technical manager and is now switching roles. He will serve with Isabirye and the U17 head coach Jimmy Kimera under him.

He says that they were prompted to elevate Mayanja because of the club performance, adding that they want him to help the club in the remaining first-round games.
