The Daughters of the Holy Spirit (DHS) and Dr. Solomey K. Mutema have donated an organ to the St. Lawrence sub-Parish of Bisanje Parish in Masaka diocese. #WhisperEyeNews
The organ was transported by Dr. Solomey K. Mutema from the UK to St. Lawrence and handed it over to the church choir on 25th December 2022, during the Christmas mass led by Rev Fr. Alex Ssekatawa from Bisanje Catholic Parish.
In his Christmas message to the faithful at St Lawrence Catholic Church, Gayaaza Masaka, Rev Fr. Ssekatawa thanked UK-based Solomey Kazaana Mutema, whose associates – the Daughters of the Holy Spirit of Bedford, United Kingdom, had donated a piano to the Sub-Parish which he said would go a long way in energizing praise and worship during mass.
“Today the child of the Lord has been born to be with Us, we need such kind acts to glorify his name,” says Fr. Ssekatawa.
He further hailed the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, who, under the leadership of Dr Maria Fordham of Bedford United Kingdom had undertaken a number of charitable activities such as giving out meat and other essentials to deprived families in the parish every Easter and Christmas in order to spread love and compassion in line with the pillars of Christ’s ministry.
“Help the need if you’re celebrating Christmas giving out basic needs to your neighbors is a sign of humanity and love which Jesus Christ brought to us as we celebrate this Christmas,” Rev Fr Ssekatawa said.
On her part, Solomey K. Mutema, who handed over the piano on behalf of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit promised that she would work with active members of the Laity and register a charity that would take up the running of these charitable activities on a sustainable level.
The Catechist of St. Lawrence sub-Parish Mis Sylvia Nakiwala appreciated the DHS and Mrs Mutema for the gift the point.
“We’re really honored to have Madam Solomey as a born of our sub parish. On Easter and Christmas, they provide meat, sugar, and other items to the community. I thank her team of Daughters of the Holy Spirit for their support of our church.
