Mp Bayiga Lulume contributions 1m towards Church House to repay Equity bank loan, receives praise from Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu.

Buikwe South County MP Dhalibunga Dr. Salongo Bayigga Michael Philip LulumeKasajja joined the family of his friend Rotarian David Bukenya Kato who invited him to join them in Church House Fundraising Drive at his residence in Kitagobwa-Matugga.

Rotarian Bukenya invited MP Lulume to a special thanksgiving ceremony led by the Archbishop of the Province of the Church of Uganda His Grace Dr Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu Mboowa.

At the ceremony, Buikwe South legislator Lulume called upon Ugandans to join the Church House fundraising drive, to save historical build from Equity Bank takeover due to unserviced 48bn loan used for its construction.

He contributed Ugx shs 1,000,000/= in cash.

Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu who is also a native son of Gulama village in Buikwe South County appreciated Dr. Bayiga for his call and contribution towards saving Church House.

Among the notables who attended the function were Buganda Kingdom Former Speaker Owek. Rotarian Nelson Kawalya, Rotary PDG Ken Mugisha, Buddo Junior Head Teacher Mr Kavulu Ernest, Ssaku SSS Director Kulubya among others.

The Church of Uganda is currently mobilizing funds to repay the loan from Equity Bank used to construct the magnificent building on plot 34, Kampala road.

The concept for Church House as a commercial real estate enterprise began in late 1960s, since then members of the church have been making contributions towards the project.
