Today 1st December 2021, has been a day full of events from the international AIDs day where most organisations and agencies working towards ending new HIV infections by the year 2030, have come together to advocate for ways of achieving this goal but also denouncing stigma and giving affordable care to those living Positively. These activities took place at Kololo Ceremonial grounds.

Away from the World AIDS day activities, National Youth Advocacy Platform(NYAP) an organisation that has a membership spread across the country serving the youth interests, together Youth Advocacy Foundation Uganda-YAFU met members of the 11th Parliament to orient them on the youth agenda with in the National Youth Manifesto and the youth demands from Government through Parliament.

These members of Parliament are brought together by the Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs(UPFYA) that lobby for youth voices with in Parliament. Over 120 (One Hundred Twenty Members of Parliament) from different political shades have so far subscribed to this platform and it is today still that the Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs ( UPFYA) has elected new leadership.

The process has been overseen and supported by Executive Director, CIDI- Community Integrated Development Initiatives, The Country Representative of Westminster Foundation For Democracy (WFD), Mr Joseph Munyangabo, National Youth Council Chairman Mr Jacob Eyeru and several other dignitaries.

This new leadership will take youth policy agenda forward with in the 11th Parliament for two years and a half then another term of office will be given to another team until 2026.

It has been a vigorous democratic process where secret ballot voting happened and Hon Okot Boniface (Youth MP Northern region) was elected the Chairperson, Hon Nyamutoro Phionah (National Female Youth MP) as his Vice Chairperson, Hon Rugumayo Edson ( Youth MP Western Region) as Treasurer, Hon Tusiime Julius (MP Rwampara) as Publicity of the this Platform and other regional coordinators whose names will be published during the official hand over by the old executive that had Hon Adeke Anna as the Chairperson and Hon Mwine Mpaaka on the executive.
