Two arrested in Bududa district Over forgery of academic papers

Police in Bududa district has arrested and detained 2people for allegedly forging academic papers.

Their arrest came after Bududa district service commission noticed the forgery of academic papers and called in police to intervene,
Among those arrested include Wamula Michael wamanga 41 and Wafula Julius 40years

It’s alleged that the two forged academic papers in order to acquire jobs of parish chiefs in Bududa district,

According to police spokes person Elgon subregion Rogers Taitika says that the suspects were having diplomas in social workes and social administration from Nsami technical institute mpigi district of which the service suspected it to forgery ,

Taitika added that the suspects are currently being detained at Bududa police station as investigations continues.

Taitika also added that charges of forgery and uttering forged documents have been preferred against them as investigations continue.

Although over one thousand applicants were shortlisted, a big number of them have decided to keep away from the interviews that started last week, after being tipped off that there was a possibility of being arrested if one had forged documents.

So far, over 50 applicants have been thrown out of the interview panel with others being interrogated at police after realizing that they were holding forged documents.

According to the CID office at Bududa central police station, some applicants who were handed over to police have confessed to having documents which are not genuine with some though insisting that theirs are genuine.
