Masaka Killings: Mp Ssewayana Allan, Mp Ssegirinya Muhammad denied bail

The Masaka High Court presiding judge her Lordship Lawerence Twenyanze has denied bail to to National Unity Platform Members of Parliament.

MP Allan Ssewanyana representing Makindye West And embattled Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya commonly referred to as MR Updates have been denied temporarily freedom.

According to the Judge the duo MPs would interfere with police investigations.

Both were represented by Erias Lukwago and Shamim Malende in a zoom channeled session in Masaka.

After a rage of Masaka killings, the duo MPs were sermoned by Masaka police after it was revealed that some arrested suspects had initiated that the Kampala MPs were behind the killings which had reported close to 30 people dead.

The MPs were early this month remanded to prison on six charges, including murder, attempted murder, and aiding and abetting terrorism.

According to Uganda police, the duo maps hired gangs to carry out the killings, allegedly promising them large sums of money.

The MPs were charged with four others including Sserwada Mike, Muwonge Jude, Wamala Bulo and Mugerwa John who have also been granted bail.
