First Deputy Prime Minsiter and Minister for East African Affairs Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga this week came out to assure member states that by 2024, East Africa will be using one single currency something that will have a positive impact on trade as well as a step towards the East African Federation.

Kadaga words came while addressing members at the 16th annual trade and investment conference where she interested members to invest in Uganda.

Kadaga added that for the best of all economies of East African countries, a unity, one currency and no tariff barriers will be a great move that will lead to development.

Kadaga also added that there will be a huge market for commodities when borders are open something that will attract investment and job creation hence eradication of poverty from member states.
