Kampala Woman Member of Parliament Shamim Malende paid a tribute to former Salaam Charity Foundation Chairperson, the late Dr Abdnoorr Anas Kaliisa.

The Opposition Shadow Minister for Justice, Malende said that Dr Kaliisa will always be remembered for his kindness and wise teachings.

“You taught us how to give back to the less privileged. Forever grateful for your kindness and wise counsel. We dearly miss you” says MP Malende who had traveled with Salaam Charity Foundation to Ruhaama, Kaliisa burial ground.

“Dr Kaliisa is dead, but his wise teachings, counsel, and guidance to many can not die, we shall always live by your guidance,” she added.

At the time of his death, Dr. Kaliisa was the chairperson of Salaam Charity Foundation that has been undertaking various community projects.

He was also been Uganda’s representative to the Saudi-based International Islamic Fiqh Academic, which is in charge of giving Islamic edicts alias fatwas.

Dr. Anas Abdunoor Kaliisa was a renowned Muslim scholar and a political analyst, the elder brother to Next Media Services Chief Executive Officer Kin Kariisa.

Once he served as Director of the Institute of Research and Training, and one of the 21 founders and the Managing Director for House of Zakat

Dr Kaliisa was also the Secretary of the Eminent Council of Sheikhs of Uganda and Chairman Muslim Jurists Uganda also an expert in Islamic law, history and customs sitting on the apex body of world Muslim scholars.

Dr Abdnoor Anas Kaliisa breathed his last while taking an evening nap at his residence in Kawempe on 04th November 2020.
