Exclusive: Why Mpigi district LC. V chairman Ssejjemba Martin awarded all political parties in his Executive including NRM and DP councillors. Whisper Eye News

National Unity Platform (NUP) LC. V Chairman for Mpigi District Martin Ssejjemba on Wednesday 25th August 2021 named his executive committee during the second council meeting of the first session.

The scientific council meeting sat outside the Mpigi district administration building in Mpigi Town Council, Mr Ssejjemba named the Democratic Party (DP) Buwama Sub-county councillor as the secretary for Education and Health, while Vision Group Mpigi based Journalist, the male district youth councillor Mr Paddy Bukenya of NRM the minister for Production and works.

At first Mr Ssejjemba named Muduuma direct councillor Mr Frank Ssendyowa NUP as the secretary for Finance and Planning, but was challenged on gender balance and he was substituted with Kiringente Sub-county Woman councillor Harriet Nalumu NUP.

The hot council was chaired by speaker Mr Kibirige Kaggwa Ronald of NUP who also led the election of committee chairpersons.

Mr Ssempijja Cyrus Baker (NRM) representing People with Disabilities (PWDs) was elected as the Chairperson for the Finance Committee defeating NUP’s Ssendyowa with only one vote and Balaba Agnes (NRM) Female Youth representative was elected the Chairperson for Production committee defeating NUP’s Harriet Nabakooza woman councillor of Mpigi Town Council.

Mpigi district Woman MP Hon Teddy Nambooze attended the council meeting and advised all Mpigi district elected leaders to work together for the good of the district.

The district Deputy RDC Mrs Hellen Nsereko questioned leaders to eradicate people about the Emyooga funds and help them use money given to them properly to fight poverty.
