Uganda is all smiles after confirmation that at least 586,080 Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines will be received this week.

According to the ministry of health twitter handle, A donation of 300,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine is ready for shipment from China

The vaccines will be in the country on Saturday 31 July 2021 to support the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination exercise in the country. a tweet adds.

The Ministry of Health PRO Emmanuel Ainebyoona said , 286,080 will be AstraZeneca, and 300,000 will be Sinovac vaccines.

According to the ministry of health, Inspection and analysis by the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control have been conducted and certificates of analysis have been issued for this shipment.

Experts say that vaccination of the entire population is the only way to fight this pandemic and reopen the entire economy.

The country’s health ministry is targeting to vaccinate close to 50% of the tire population by December 2021.
