Zambia top opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema distributes face masks while campaigning for presidency

Most popular and major Zambian opposition leader Economist Hakainde Hichilema also known as HH by the Zambians has donated thousands of face masks to people in Lusaka’s Meanwood-Ndeke area during his presidential campaign trail.

The supporters of the Patriotic Front (PF) of incumbent president Edgar Lungu have criticized HH for giving out face masks during campaign time, terming it as bribing voters.

However, unflappable Hichilema said, while they are in politics but people’s lives come first.

Supporters of the United Party for National Development (UPND) where chanting “Bally, Bally.. Time for Change! Vote for Change! HH for President,” while receiving face masks, since wearing a face mask is one of the recommended measures to fight the deadly Covid-19.

“We encouraged the people to remain strong and come this August, turn out in numbers and vote for Change,” says Hichilema.

“We will go to all places of our Country and distribute face masks while preaching messages of change and this time around no one stands in the way of the people,” vows HH.

Mr Hichilema told Zambians that they possess power to determine their leader, and future.

“You, the voters will decide your future and not those who count votes together with their accomplices who have run down the economy,” he stated.

HH warned the Electoral body over rigging and vowed that no body will stand in their way come 12th August 2021.

Hichilema is the top opposition leader challenging incumbent president rule Lungu who defeated him in 2016 with just a margin of less than 2% of the votes.

There are other 14 candidates in the race.
