MP Mpunga names hot Shadow Cabinet

Uganda Leader of Opposition (LOP) who doubles as the Nyendo Mukuungwe legislator Hon Mathias Mpuuga has appointed the Shadow today.

“In exercise of the powers under Article 82A(c) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, and Rule 14(2) of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, I have appointed the following Honourable colleagues to the Shadow cabinet,” says MP Mpuuga.

Hon Mpuuga has appointed Ndorwa East MP Niwagaba Wilfred the Attorney General, while Butambala County MP Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi who is also the Chairman Buganda parliamentary caucus to head Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

To boost agricultural sector, hon Mpuuga has appointed Kimanya Kabonera MP unmatched Dr Abed Bwanika as the minister of Agricultural.

Luweero woman MP Hon Brenda Nabukenya is the new Education minister, and Mawokota North MP Kiyaga Hillary Innocent appointed as the shadow minister of Culture and performing Arts.

Others on the shadow cabinet are Mawokota South MP Hon Yusuf Nsibambi, FDC in charge of Works and Transport, Kiwanuka Abdallah Kayongo Mulima Mayuune is the new Internal Affairs minister, and Hoima City woman MP Nyakato Asinasi heads Energy and Minerals.

With the unsolved Land question basically in Buganda region, Hon Mathias Mpuuga has appointed Nakawa East MP, hon Balimwezo Ronald Nsubuga as the minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.

Kampala woman MP Malende Shamim appointed the Justices and Constitutional Affairs minister.

Bukomansimbi MP Kayemba Godfrey Solo to head sports, and Mukono woman MP Nabukeera Hanifa to oversees Human Rights.

And Kyadondo East MP Muwanda Nkunyingi is in charge of Foreign Affairs.

Hon Mpuuga has asked all appointed MPs to work under the motto ‘Accountability
and Service’.
