Bobi Wine demands immediate release of James Mubiru and all other political prisoners

National Unity Platform (NUP) president hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert also popularly known as Bobi Wine, who is on a working tour abroad has called upon Uganda government to release incarcerated party leaders and members.

A couple of days ago, the Military Court at Makindye released 17 NUP members on bail, who were remanded in Kitalya prison.

However a number of Party leaders and members are still behind bars, thus Mr. Wine has called for their immediate release.

“While the criminals are roaming free and plundering our country, innocent Ugandans continue to rot in jails for simply exercising their democratic rights,” says Mr Wine.

“James; Mubiru, Machete Yasin, Bukenya Moses aka Wiser, Kalanzi Ashraf, Lutaya Olivia and all p olitical prisoners, we are with you comrades.”

“The dictatorship might think it’s weakening your resolve but it is simply making you stronger. We demand for the unconditional release of all innocent citizens detained in known and unknown detentions and torture chamber across the country,” Mr Kyagulanyi said.

James Mubiru was elected a Lord councilor in Rubaga north to Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), but he has not taken oath, and he is not representing his people.
