Uganda’s Youngest Tycoon Ham Kiggundu has through his founded foundation “Ham Foundation” donated Fifteen thousand Covid-19 dozes worthy of UGX 530 Million to Ugandans.

Speaking to the Press at the Media Centre in Kampala, Ham Kiggundu in a bid to scoop 20 Million free covid19 dozes he pledged to buy 15000 free dozens for vaccination of Ugandans

He said that over 5000 dozes are for his employees and tenants and 10000 dozes are for other fellow Ugandans.

He explained that “As Ham Enterprises, am willing and ready to commit 530 million shillings towards this justified cause to buy vaccines approximately 15000 dozes.

He pleaded that If we had only like 2000 investors to come out for each to buy at least 10000 dozes, we would immunize or vaccinate up to 20 million Ugandans which would be sufficient to bring the level of coronavirus down.

Ham Kiggundu who is behind various arcades in Kampala called upon the business private sector especially city landlords, businessmen, employers, corporate giants, and service providers to stand together with Ugandans in this trying to contain the Covid-19 era.

“Am of the humble request to the private sector especially the investors that in addition to what government is doing, let us join hands and see whether we can secure vaccines because this is the only way towards elimination of this pending era,” he said.

According to Ham Kiggundu that coronavirus disease (Covid-19) does not differentiate between the rich and the poor asserting that it’s high time for every responsible Ugandans to join hands in kicking the pandemic out of the country.

“Covid-19 does not know whether you are rich, covid does not know whether you are poor, everyone can be a victim to covid and it is our corporate responsibility as Ugandans and as a business private sector for who have been benefiting from Ugandans for all this time. They are our clients, our customers, and above all fellow Ugandans. From a reasonable point of view, It is our obligation to come up and purchase these vaccines and make sure a reasonable number of Ugandans are vaccinated,” he stated

During the first pandemic, Ham Kiggundu joined other Ugandans in donating to the Uganda government when he cashed then Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda UGX 100 Million for free food distribution during the first covid19 lockdown.

Uganda is experiencing the worst scenario of covid19, Whisper Eye has learnt that Uganda’s health Ministry has confirmed 842 new Covid-19 cases as the Country continues grappling.

The cases were registered from the tests done on 7th June 2021 bringing the Cumulative confirmed cases to 55,511.
