Heavy traffic jam has locked Kampala City today as Ugandans rush to villages after President’s address yesterday, ordering new Covid-19 restrictions.

President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni declared 42 days of lockdown, closing schools with immediate effect from today 7th June, 2020.

Our reporter who has toured Kampala city today, and all roads have expressed heavy traffic jam.

On Masaka Highway, heavy traffic jam has been terrible from Nateete up to May, 20km away from Kampala.

On Jinja road, heavy traffic jam has locked the highway up to Seeta.

On Mityana road, terrible traffic jam has affected movement from Busega to Buloba.

In the same way Bombo road, and Hoima road drivers have cried out arguing that jam has increased fuel consumption of their vehicles yet fuel prices are too high.

According to our reporter by press time taxi operators have started increasing transport fairs due to jam and stranded passengers on various roads.
