Mityana Municipality MP Hon Zaake Francis Butebi is poised to head Uganda’s opposition in the coming 11th parliament.

Whisper Eye has learnt that Member of Parliament representing Mityana Municipality Hon Zaake who is currently the youth leader of National Unity Platform (NUP) and was the first MP to join former Kyadondo East MP Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert’s People Power Our Power Movement.

A reliable source close to Kamwokya political base told Whisper Eye News that Mp Zaake has more support from foot soldiers within NUP than an other MP.

He has recruited many youths in the party and many have won various positions in local governments and parliamentary seats across the country.

The source further told us that Hon Zaake loyalty to the party president and other leaders gives him a milage over his counterparts.

“Hon Zaake had the party symbol which is an Umbrella and a red barret while he was swearing in at parliament. It shows that he loves the party and he has sacrificed a lot for the success,” the source explained.

“He (MP Zaake) can not be bribed to undermine our president Bobi Wine. He is tested and trusted than anyone,” the source added.

Currently, NUP leaders are in fear of president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhabulwa Museveni from bribing their leader of opposition to weaken Mr Kyagulanyi prolonged plans to overthrow Museveni.

And basing on that Hon Zaake is advantaged to become the next leader of opposition to protect the interests of the new party leading the county’s opposition front.
