Police FC has picked a convincing 4-1 win against Bright Stars FC in a Stanbic Uganda Cup round of sixteen first leg match played at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Sunday.

Ben Ocen gave Police the lead after two minutes before Joseph Janjali leveled matters for Bright Stars after 15 minutes. It was Yusuf Ssozi who restored the lead for Police moments later after picking a good pass from Veteran Tony Mawejje.

Police continued to dominate before Ocen netted his second goal of the day and substitute Derrick Kakooza made it 4-1 in the second half.

Police FC head coach Abdallah Mubiru applauded his players for the performance. Mubiru however said the win does not guarantee their qualification to quarter finals and added that they must keep working hard and prepare for the second leg.

He also said the versatility of his players impacts on their performance with different players being able to score goals.

In the other matches played in the Stanbic Uganda Cup Proline FC registered a narrow 2-1 win against fellow Big League side Mbale Heroes, while KCCA FC beat Maroons 2-0, and Wakiso Giants humbled Tooro United 5-1.
