SC Villa, URA FC match ends in a draw

URA FC failed to go top of the Star Times Uganda Premier League table after settling for a goalless draw against SC Villa in a match played at the Bombo Military Barracks playground today.

Coach Sam Ssimbwa’s URA FC needed a win to go top of the log ahead of reigning champions SC Vipers who also drew their last clash against Wakiso Giants.

The game started with the visitors URA FC looking for early goals and putting pressure on SC Villa’s defense. URA FC’s Cromwell Rwothomio had his effort denied by woodwork.

In the second half, URA still continued dominating with threats from Captain Shafick Kagimu and striker Steven Mukwala. SC Villa’s goalkeeper Saidi Keni made a crucial save off a Kagimu strike after 68th minutes.

In another League match played, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) battled to a goalless draw against hosts Mbarara City FC at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara. 

Vipers SC remain top of the log with 43 points, although URA FC with the same number of points are second because of a lower goal difference.
