Police arrests four over stabbed businessman

Nyowa police are holding four people for causing grievous harm to a businessman accused of infidelity. The suspects are Jenifer Akot, Flavia Amony, Susan Awino and a man only identified as Mutebi, all residents of Tee-Got Lunyang village from Lii Sub County in Nebbi district.  

David Akena Omal, the area told Uganda Radio Network that the suspects were arrested on Sunday morning for assaulting Geoffrey Bongomin to near death after catching him red-handed having sex with Jennifer Akot, the wife to one Isa, a resident of Luwero district. 

He explains that Akot abandoned her husband, who has been searching for her whereabouts until he caught her red-handed on Sunday night sleeping with Bongomin. He says that Isa stabbed Bongomin with the help of Patrick Luwezi in the stomach and fled into hiding when the residents gathered.

According to Akena, Bongomin is admitted at St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor in critical condition as police hunts for Isa and Luwezi.   

Filbert Waibi, the Nwoya District Police Commander, says that they arrested the four suspects to help in the investigations. “Our team is still in Lacor where the victim was rushed and we are yet to take his statement,” he said.
