Former Uganda Cranes player Jackson Mayanja is the new head coach and manager of Kyetume Football Club. He replaces Alex Isabirye who has been interim head coach following the sacking of Livingstone Mbabazi earlier.

Isabirye will now work under Jackson Mayanja. Emmanuel Musinguzi, the Chief Executive Officer, Kyetume FC, says that Mayanja has been working with the club as technical manager and is now switching roles. He will serve with Isabirye and the U17 head coach Jimmy Kimera under him.

He says that they were prompted to elevate Mayanja because of the club performance, adding that they want him to help the club in the remaining first-round games.

Kyetume FC currently stands in the 14th position on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with 12 points. The team has lost 8 games, drawn 6 and only won 2 games so far. Speaking to URN, Jackson Mayanja said that he will work with the two coaches to save the team from relegation.

Melbet sponsored Kyetume FC is scheduled to host Express tomorrow in the round of the first leg in the 32 edition of Stanbic Uganda Cup before they travel to face BUL FC on April 13th, 2021 at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe in the league.

Prior to his latest appointment, Mayanja, who was better known as Mia mia during his time on the pitch, coached URA, Kiyovu, Bunamwaya (Vipers), KCC, Kololo SS, Kagera, and  Simba SC of Tanzania.
