A team of officials led by the FUFA Deputy CEO-Football, Decolas Kiiza, Club Licensing Manager, Ivan Kintu Bayige and Uganda Beach Soccer Association-UBSA Vice President, Peter Seguya revealed this shortly after touring the facility on Wednesday.

The facility will host AFCON Beach soccer Qualifiers between the Sand Cranes and Ghana on March 27th, 2021. According to Kiiza, they will use the remaining few days to the match to do the final touches.

“I believe that a few things are remaining and will be ready for the game against Ghana. I am positive that we shall get positive results,” said Kiiza.

Ali Mwebe, the FUFA Football Development Director, says there are finalizing a few things to make the facility conducive for players during training and match days.

Peter Seguya, the Vice Chairman of Uganda Beach Soccer Association applauded FUFA for the support given towards the development of Beach Soccer in the country.

It would be hard to find a playing surface in this country like this one. We have a challenge that many of the beaches we have been using were all affected by the rise of the water levels but this is timely,” he said.
