Pressure on Speaker Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga as State House endorses Jacob Oulanyah ‘s Candidature.

It is not well for Hon Kadaga who has served as the Speaker of Parliament for two terms as State House endorses her competitor Oulanyah to replace her. For a long Kadaga has been showing interest to serve as a speaker for another term.

The confusion starts from where it stopped in 2016 when Oulanya had stepped up to take on Kadaga for the Speakership but the matters were solved from statehouse where Oulanya was told to step aside for Kadaga but on condition that he was to take on the Speakership come 2021.

2021 has come and Oulanya says it is time for his promises to be fulfilled. However, Hon Kadaga feels she is still in shape to remain the speaker something that has raised temperatures within NRM.

Insider sources within the State House show that President Museveni plans to appoint Kadaga as Vice President replacing Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who is to be dropped from cabinet.

Oulanyah has also already been endorsed by the Acholi parliamentary group something that makes his chances to become the next Speaker brighter.

Hon Ruth Ssentamu Nankabirwa has already started mobilizing NRM’s members of parliament who will be in the next parliament to vote in favor of Oulanyah.

Nankabirwa who won’t be a voter having lost her parliamentary seat says she still has the influence and capacity to influence and mobilize for his friend Oulanyah.

“Mzee cannot disappoint Oulanyah. Mzee will keep his promise but I don’t know what he is going to do for Kadaga.” Source from statehouse said
