Full Story: Four Arrested over Mass Rape of P7 Pupils in Sironko

Police in Sironko has arrested three youths for aggravated rape of young girls who were returning from a coachin session at night in Sironko.

The headteacher of Bugusege primary school from his house the victims were coming when the youth gang arrested them has also been arrested for illegally coaching pupils at his home.

It is so far said that fifteen girls were raped after being waylaid by the gang.

Those under arrest are the headteacher identified as Godfrey Wanyoto,  and the alleged rapists/defilers  Gilbert Magomu aged 25 years of age, Sharif Musika  27 years and Emma Yama 28 years of age, all residents of Bukusege town council in Sironko district. 

According to Abdul Wetaka Gadid, the eye witness, the 15 primary seven pupils were gang-raped on Thursday night at 9.00 pm by ten youths while on their way going back home from the head teacher’s home where they had gone for coaching lessons.

He adds that these pupils have been having coaching lessons at school at first but later in last two week, the headteacher changed the idea of coaching  them to his home over unknown reasons.

Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the arrest saying that they are still hunting for seven more  suspects to be arrested and answer charges of defilement and rape. 

He adds that the minors are at Mbale general clinic for testing for HIV/AIDs and getting treatment after being violently ruptured.
