Sad News : Kabale Man Lynched for Hacking Nephew to Death

A mob in Kabale district has lynched a 37-year-old man for hacking his three-year-old nephew to death. The deceased has been identified as Franko Turyamushanga, a resident of Kanyankwanzi village in Bukoora parish in Kitumba Sub-county in Kabale district. 

Esau Bakaruhire, the Kitumba sub-county LC 3 Chairperson told our reporter that Turyamushanga met his death around 6:00 pm on Sunday evening. According to Bakaruhire, Turyamushanga returned home from Kanyankwanzi trading center around 02:00 PM on Sunday. 

On his arrival home, he picked an axe and descended on his three-year-old nephew identified as Crescent Muhwezi and son to Julius Muhwezi with an axe killing it on the spot. Bakaruhire says that when the deceased’s grandmother Leunida Nyinakiiza, made an alarm, Turyamushanga took off.  Bakaruhire says that residents converged and launched a manhunt for Turyamushanga and lynched him.  

They later set his body ablaze burning it to ashes to avenge the murder of three-year-old boy. Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying that two bodies are lying at Kabale Regional Referral hospital mortuary for postmortem.
