Woman in Nwoya Jailed 34 Years for Killing Husband

A 36 Year –Old woman has been sentenced to 34 years in jail for killing her husband.

Molly Angwech, a resident of Okwoto ‘C’ Village, Lii Parish, Lii Sub –County in Nwoya was convicted and sentenced for murdering her husband Richard Oyom on September 11th, 2018.

Court presided by Justice Stephen Mubiru, heard that Angwech with the help of her elder son Oscar Obal waylaid the deceased while he was returning from the market. 

A medical report indicated that the deceased died of chest trauma caused by a blunt object.

According to the prosecution, Angwech had a long misunderstanding with her husband.

In his judgment, Justice Mubiru said Angwech abused the trust of her husband by killing him and yet she was the cause of the misunderstanding.

He said her act has left her two sons with permanent trauma. Mubiru then sentenced Angwech to 34 years and seven months in jail because she is a first offender and has pleaded to the court for a lesser sentence and she has children to look after.
