Jose Chameleone mourns Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata. Whisper Eye Reports
Kampala Lord Mayor aspirant Mr Joseph Mayanja has eulogised Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata Batte for his courageous sermons based on truth.
The controversial Muslim cleric has been confirmed dead yesterday afternoon after a couple of days battling with illness.
Music Champion turned politician Joseph Mayanja popularly known by his stage name Dr Jose Chameleone told Whisper Eye News that the late has been an idol and inspiration to many people.
“I have received very sad news of the death of my friend, Mzee Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata,” says Mr Mayanja.
“It’s so painful. Sheikh Muzaata was an idol and inspiration not only to me, but to many people. I admired his courage. He spoke the truth with vigour in a style and manner, few could. He was such a great cleric,” he added.
As the general elections draw close to Mr Mayanja said that the cleric was of a great importance in the current situation.
“We mourn to your death in such period where clerics of courage are not many.
Rest in peace Mzee.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” Lord Mayor aspirant Mr Mayanja stated.
Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata Batte was born in the 1950s, to the late Adam Muzaata in Bwaise, Lufula Zone close to Kimombasa area in Kawempe.
His father was Adam Muzaata, a sheikh, as well as an Islamic religious healer.
He used the Holy Koran to treat the sick (edduwa), which other Muslims criticise, saying it’s evil.
