Road to 2021: Experts warn Museveni! campaign or risk defeat from youthful Bobi Wine . Whisper Eye Reports
As Uganda draw close to the general elections early next year, experts have warned president Museveni to start mass rallies as he campaigns for the reelection for another term.
President Museveni is holding meetings of his NRM party leaders and opinion leaders a cross the country due to Covid-19, while his main challenger Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert is holding mass rallies despite of the Covid-19 SOPs as recommended by the Electoral Commission.
According to the first presidential campaign phase, National Unity Platform president Hon Kyagulanyi popularly known as Bobi Wine has a success campaign trail despite of police brutality.
His rallies in Arua, Lira, Gulu, Luuka, Nakifuma, Mukono, Kassanda among others have attracted record numbers in Uganda’s politics.
Experts say that this is a disadvantage to the incumbent Mr Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni who is holding just meetings.
“President Museveni must start holding mass political rallies or risk defeat from youthful Bobi Wine,” says Experts.
The ongoing controversial presidential campaigns are interfered with police on allegations of observing Covid-19 SOPs.
The other day Mr Wine had a meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to raise issues of police brutality that has occurred during his campaigns including the recent of Kayunga where his car was demolished and his security aide shot by the police.
All opposition candidates are not allowed to hold their political rallies across the country, a move that threatens a will of having free and fair elections.
