Police suspends selling fuel in jerry cans over Bobi Wine riots

The Uganda police Force- UPF have suspended selling and buying of fuel in jerry-cans at all pumps until the end of elections. They say this is to curtail acts of making petrol bombs in the anticipated riots.
This follows the protests that took place 2 weeks back after the arrest of National Unity Platform’s presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
The protest broke out on November 18-19th spreading to several towns across the country and leading to the death of over 50 people and hundreds of injuries.

Presidential Candidate Mugisha Muntu took the campaign to the far western hilly district of Bundibugyo. Mugisha Muntu was accompanied by among other leaders, the National Campaign Manager Hon. Winnie Kiiza and the National Leader for Youth in Higher Institutions of Learning, David Bala. On their way to Bundibugyo, they paid a courtesy visit to the family of Late Tweheyo Robert who was the Alliance for National Transformation Coordinator for Bundibugyo. Tweheyo Robert died 2 weeks ago and the team made this stop at his home to commiserate with his mother, widow, children, and the rest of the community.
Museveni asks Bukedi party leaders to explain NRM story to people

President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the NRM Presidential flag bearer, has asked party leaders to explain to the public, the party’s success story.
The President, who was addressing party leaders and flag bearers from Pallisa, Butebo and Kibuku districts in Bukedi sub-region at the Busitema University grounds, said that NRM has turned around Uganda’s situation from failure to prosperity since 1986, a story he said needs to be told to the people to enable them make wise decisions.

National Unity Platform supporters braved what was termed as the most heavy teargas ever in the history of Uganda Police teargas to attend hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu rally in Mukono , and Buikwe.
Earlier, Kyagulanyi had successful campaigned in Nakifuma as police did not block him despite heavy deployment.

According to MP Francis Zaake Butebi , Just after Nakifuma campaign meeting police has killed five people on their campaign trail to Buikwe.
