Kampala Woman MP Nabirah Naggayi Ssempala joins National Unity Platform (NUP) to contest for Kampala Lord Mayoral seat on party ticket.
Although many Ugandans in the political circle believe that MP Nabirah Naggayi who is a wife to Al-haji Latif Ssebaggala Ssengendo’s brother Mr Ssempala works for president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, she couldn’t sleep off after seeing search a chance.
Whisper Eye news is reliably informed that the Kisaasi family which has controlled Kampala politics since 1998 had a meeting and agreed to back Hon Nabirah Naggayi Ssempala after Al-haji Nasser Ntege Ssebaggala failed to recover from illness on time.
The family had decided Al-haji Nasser Ssebaggala to contest on the seat, thus forcing Al-haji Latif Ssebaggala Ssengendo to quit the race but unfortunately Al-haji Nasser Ssebaggala failed to recover, thus bring a substitute as MP Nabirah Naggayi.
The Kisaasi family is sure that Makindye West MP Haji Ntege Faruq will make it to the parliament, now they want also the seat of Kampala Lord Mayor.
MP Nabirah Naggayi who is a member of the Forum for Democratic Change, is blamed for not attending parliament during the famous ‘Togikwatako’ vote as she was in Canada on the trip alleged to be sponsored by the state.
Just recently when hon Nabirah Naggayi wanted to pick nomination forms from the FDC headquarters in Najjanankubi, she was blocked by party offices on claims that she is working for president Museveni.
Yesterday Hon Nabirah Naggayi joined the race to contest for the post of Kampala Lord Mayor seat on NUP ticket.
Nabirah Naggayi has a rich political experience of 20years in public office she was a councillor in Wakiso, and Kampala woman MP since 2006. She is also a Moslem which factors were based on to deny singer Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Dr Jose Chameleone NUP ticket.
