Speaker of Uganda’s parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has boosted her campaigns for the Second National Chairperson NRM representing women in Masaka City with a vigorous speech.
Rt. Hon Kadaga who traveled in a police helicopter which has excited locals in the newly created Masaka City has promised leaders of the ruling party the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to move on with her devoted struggles defending girl child, women empowerment and development.
The speaker said that there is a need to have an experienced and good servant for the post.
“Vote me for credible and just leadership to our NRM party. I have trust in our members in Masaka subregion, I’m ready to continue advocating for the rights of a girl child, and women empowerment,” says Hon Kadaga.
Hon Kadaga who is also the woman MP for Kamuli district in Busoga, is facing it rough with Minister Persis Namuganza who is also the Area MP for Bukono County in Busoga sub region.
Kadaga has been in Uganda’s parliament since 1989.
Persis Namuganza is the state minister for lands in the Cabinet of Uganda.
She was appointed to that position on 6 June 2016.
Namuganza concurrently serves as the elected representative of Bukono County, in Namutumba district, in the 10th Parliament.
