Big Story: ISO arrests about 100 people from Mpigi district in connection to ADF rebels. Whisper Eye Reports
Uganda Internal Security Organisation (ISO) operatives have raided what are believed to be recruiting centers of ADF rebel group in Mpigi district.
The mission that took almost two days has been concluded today, arresting about 100 people from two districts mainly Mpigi, and Butambala.
ISO operatives invaded the IntiQaama organisation office found at Park Village in Mpigi Town Council.
Those who were arrested include; Mr Ssebulime Charles 27, and his sister Namirimu Olivia 25, both were registering youths who wanted scholarships at University level, and according to their relatives ISO operatives told them that they were recruiting young intelligent youths to join ADF.
Others are; Nambalirwa Ant, Bernald Mukasa, Mulongo Wasswa, Eng Ben, Nakyanzi Bridget, and Mary among others.
These were picked from different centres in Mpigi, Kayabwe, Kibibi, Kammengo, Muduuma, among other areas.
A reliable source close Mpigi district headquarters has told Whisper Eye News that the district security committee was not involved in the operation.
Katonga region police spokesperson ASP Lydia Katushabe has confirmed the arrest of some people from the district.
However she says that details can only be available after engagements with ISO.
Those who were arrested are detained at Kireka SIU as investigations take course to their final conclusion.
